My old blog on serenityalways.com died, so I have built this one to take over. Since this is a new blog under a new name, I figured a new post was in order so I could delete the Hello World one.
It is currently February of 2025 and the world is on fire, in some ways literally. We are now governed by a lawless group of robber barons - just like in the Old West - with only one of themactually elected to the office. Billionaires, Oligarchs, The Predator Class, or Robber Barons , whatever you call them, they are running everything into the ground. They plan to take all of the money they can in some sort of mad race to the one with the most money.
While the rest of us rot.
Once we cannot work the long hours of servitude they require, they feel the money spent to house and feed us should be taken back. Because in our retirement, we have become parasites and freeloaders with the pittancethey throw back as Social Security. And most of us put in 30+ years working our asses off for yet another pittance they threw our way while we were healthy, if we ever were.
We just wanted to enjoy our lives and not have fascism. We even wrote it into our earliest Historical Documents to throw off the chains of future fascist governmental attempts. That is literally why they wrote it in that we should all be able to be armed. The knew it was going to be a serious risk claiming everyone was made equal.
I agree that we should have controls on gun ownership to prevent the large number of needless deaths we see at the hands of firearms. Especially our children. To do nothing for them just to keep the Lobby Money flowing is pure evil.
However, it is also noted in the Historical Documents that we are endowed by our creator by these rights: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. How has that played out for everyone?
The rich get 50%, at least, and we all have to fight amongst each other for the rest. SO far, its been working. Folks are seeing through the smoek screens now, however, and we are all armed.
Once we are all agreed on it, they can't win. That is what they are afraid of and why they want lawlessness to prevail. As long as we fight each other, we are not fighting them. And? Less people to take care of when they die.
They care nothing about what happens to any of us. Bezos, Zuckerberg, Elon, Trump are the ones we hear about, but there are many more, like Tim Dunn in Texas. They just run the whole thing with an iron fist like we wouldn't even go otherwise, and turns out we are only really upset that they are abusing us with price gouging, trade wars, taking away our benefits, combined with forcing horrible working ethics and long hours, etc. We all know what they are doing. We live it every day.
We, as a people, can just agree that the extremely rich are a thing of the past and should not be governing the rest of us notably ungoverned. We can seize assets being hoarded and push them to the public as Healthcare and UBI, or similar things.
WE CAN ALL JUST DECIDE TO NOT LET THEM RULE US.
I see a reckoning coming. Like in Star Trek, we still have WWIII to think about as we try to enforce this new contract of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, as it was written in our country's Historical Documents and as we imagine it really could be as we look at it with modern eyes.
I am getting old, so I won't likely survive to see the other side of this movement. But, I will be damned if I go out on my knees to a fucking charlatan who wants to be king.
So, I am waiting for more reasonable beings to do something until they call on me or I see it's too far along. Because, I have been at guillotines and socialism for some time. I am just waiting for heroes to change the world, resisting where I can. Boldly, with my own name.
